Buckden manor house, Church Street, February 2012
The upper floor of the manor house seen from the churchyard. It has been altered over many years, the section on the left, fronting Church Street, has some remains of c13th century wall. The half-timbered portion behind the trees dates to the early 17th century. It has always been an important building for the village and the earliest parts may relate to it being a court house or guildhall. The building has been subdivided and all parts are now private dwellings.
