Buckden War Memorial before cleaning (1)

Buckden War Memorial (unveiled 22 April 1920) commemorating 33 men of Buckden and Stirtloe killed in WW1 and the 16 men killed in WW2. There were in fact 39 Buckden and Stirtloe area and related men who were killed in WW1. This photo shows the full memorial in March 2014 before it was cleaned by Buckden Parish Council in July 2014. The parish church of St. Mary's and the red brick Bishop of Lincoln's Palace are in the background.
