Horse Sunday in St Neots, 19th September 1953 - assembling at the common

Horse Sunday was an annual event (now seldom observed) at which all local riders would assemble on St Neots Common and then proceed to the Market Square where a Vicar or Minister would conduct a short service and bless the equines and riders.  This picture shows (far left) Brian Carrington and (far right) his pal, Lolly ( Laurence Weal, believed to be an employee of Wrycrofts.
